We Haz a BRRRRRRR

Sadly, we have no heat, not since Thanksgiving day. Mom says our heater developed a "cracked heat exchanger", which leads to very bad things if she keeps using it, so of course she can't.

And because our heater is 17 years old, we probably have to replace the whole thing, since they don't really make parts for it anymore. Mom says this costs a great many green papers, too. We're waiting on the noisy strangers from the heating fix it people tomorrow.

In the meantime, we've got flannel sheets, down blankets, a space heater and an electric blanket. Mom sealed up our house as tight as she could, so we're making do. And today she hung up a blanket over our bedroom doorway. We all think it looks kinda awful, but it definitely adds to the toasty factor when the space heater is on.

It's not terribly awful - Mom says it's about 58 degrees inside, and last night it got down to 31 outside.

Anyway, we hope to have some good news tomorrow. Keep your paws crossed for us, please.

  1. Oh, no! 58F is cold for inside a house!

A few years ago, in the dead cold of winter (January), our furnace died. They had to replace the entire "mother board" and it took 3 days for it to come in. We were okay, with our fur coats, but the mom was pretty cold, even with electric heaters.

So we hope your heat is fixed tomorrow! Paws crossed!
