Update

Well, we're still getting our BRRRR on, but the fix it people came out today. Mom says they have new parts available after all, and should hopefully be installed next week. Till then, it's gonna be nippy for us, but we're getting another space heater to help.

Thank you for your kind words and support, furriends. We all 'preciate it.

We Haz a BRRRRRRR

Sadly, we have no heat, not since Thanksgiving day. Mom says our heater developed a "cracked heat exchanger", which leads to very bad things if she keeps using it, so of course she can't.

And because our heater is 17 years old, we probably have to replace the whole thing, since they don't really make parts for it anymore. Mom says this costs a great many green papers, too. We're waiting on the noisy strangers from the heating fix it people tomorrow.

In the meantime, we've got flannel sheets, down blankets, a space heater and an electric blanket. Mom sealed up our house as tight as she could, so we're making do. And today she hung up a blanket over our bedroom doorway. We all think it looks kinda awful, but it definitely adds to the toasty factor when the space heater is on.

It's not terribly awful - Mom says it's about 58 degrees inside, and last night it got down to 31 outside.

Anyway, we hope to have some good news tomorrow. Keep your paws crossed for us, please.

Day Shift

My Mom and I have a good system worked out - during the cold months, I take over the Spot on the bed right on the flannel sheet, tucked in between the pillows and the turned down covers. I'm the Day Shift Spot Holder; she's got the night.

Sometimes Leia hangs out with me in my Spot, but ultimately it's MY job to keep it warm. Mostly she likes sleeping in front of the window in the bedroom.

GoodBye Inigo

Today, the sweet and wonderful Inigo leaves for the Bridge.

He fought the good fight,
but in the end it was too much to overcome.

We will miss you, Inigo, and we grieve with your family.

Why?

What, exactly, is it with hoomins? I mean, do they sit around and talk to each other about how best to annoy and frustrate their wonderful kittehs? Meanness, truly, just meanness.

Until two days ago, Leia & I enjoyed full bowls of food, whenever we wanted them. And then WHAM, they were taken away without notice. Now it's twice a day. TWICE! Seriously, people, we are going to starve!

She says it's my fault, that I'm too hefty, and she can hear my joints clicking. And that makes her feel bad, and guilty, so she's trying to fix my heft. *I* say she doesn't feel guilty ENOUGH. Does she respond to our pleas for more noms? NO! The best we get is. "well, ok, since you can't eat right now I won't have that cookie, so it's fair." Ha.

On the other paw.... we're more interested in our Stinky Goodness than before. And that seems to make her happy, since she wants us off the kibble. Something about our being hungry enough now to want to try it - see? MEANNESS!!!

TIME TO CELEBRATE!!!

Sighs. Seriously, Mom? You want our space for this? Oh, all right.

She wants us to tell you how excited she is over the engagement (finally!!) of Prince William & Kate Middleton. May they have the life Princess Diana SHOULD HAVE had.

CONCATULATIONS!!!

(what now, Mom? Fine - she says to say that she's not a Royal Watcher but she has always been an admirer of Princess Diana. May she rest in peace).

Monster Under the Covers

To the Mom -
when we play Finger Monster Under the Covers,
and
I bite the crap out of your hand,
I think that is ALL YOUR FAULT!
But I admit it was fun.
Sincerely, T.

From the Mom -
OWWWWWIEEEE!!!

Frisky Monday

It's a great day so far! Nice, chilly weather - the kind that makes a kitteh want to climb up walls.
(I tried, really, didn't quite manage it.) Our Mom let us out for Porch Time this morning but didn't think we would want to stay out. HA! We showed her! Never underestimate the power of a kitteh's will, hoomins.
