Looky!

Recently Mom had to get a new laptop, her first one. It's nothing special, a pretty basic model. She likes it well enough but it didn't come in Flyer Red, so she was bummed about that.

She did what everyone does these days - headed off to Amazon.com. And she found this laptop decal that she LUFFS! And so do we! It's got a bit of cute, a bit of edge, and a whole lot of "Don't mess with me" kitten - tude.

Seriously. Look at those pointy ends. No one wants to be on the receiving end of those.

Finally Friday

and boy is our Mom ever in a grumpy mood. Grumpy Cat, shove on over. You've got competition, girl.

The cold winter here is really starting to bug her. By the morning we will be at 9 degrees - a record for our area of North Carolina. But tonight really took the catnip cake in her opinion.

I joined her on the pillows while she was trying to sleep and of course she petted me. And realized that my poor pink bunny nose was ICE COLD. Wet and a pink ice cube. She kept rubbing it in an attempt to warm it up, and now her thumb hurts from MY cold nose.

Why?? We have a warm house, nicely energy efficient. It took a while but she finally realized that it was from my late night snack - on the ceramic plate. The icy ceramic plate. So now we have to use the disposable foam plates that she uses, and she's contemplating paper plates too.

Mom is very big on providing us with the best environment our green papers will allow; to think that something she did to make life nicer for us hurt one of us, is hurting her. Purrsonally I think she ought to take a cue from William of Mass Destruction's household and make herself some nice catnip tea.  :)

Sighs. Now she's making warm compresses for my cold nose. It is warming it up a bit though.

Happy Friday, furriends. Stay warm!!!

Wordless Wednesday

PS: Mom wants you to know that the book we both enjoyed is by Elizabeth Peters. Her Amelia Peabody series is her best, but anything she writes is very entertaining. This one was Naked Once More. And no, it's not quite what the title implies. Just a light hearted mystery set in a small town.

Mancat Monday

I have many interests. In addition to watching manly movies and tv shows, I also enjoy being on Mom's Kindle. Here I am reading a light mystery ebook.

And to think some people say kittehs don't read. Stereotypes!

Hmpf.

Happy Monday, furrriends.

Happy Finally Friday

Happy Friday furriends! We know your moms and dads luff this day, same as ours.

What? Oh.

Why am I whispering? I'm in hiding, of course. Mom brought out that stupid noisy thing she calls a hairdryer, same as every morning. While I'm trying to sleep on the bed right next to it. We have this same discussion every single morning, but she never respects my right to peaceful sleeping. I was here first!

She blathers on about the dressing table and the mirror and outlets and stuff. I don't care about any of that. Just that I get disturbed.

Hmpf.

Goodbye Furriend Maxx

We just read that Maxx from Colehaus Cats has passed to the Bridge. Please go by and visit his family during this sad time.

Maxx, we will miss you too.

A Few Found

Mom found some old pictures she had saved on her work computer. We agreed to let her share a few of them:

The infamous Bunny Ear Episode. I only let this happen since I was carefully watching Cousin Max.

That's me up in the closet. I was such a good climber,
couldn't keep me out of anywhere I wanted to be.
I don't... uh... do a lot of climbing these days.
Totally could if I WANTED to, though.

Us on OUR futon. Which we don't have any more.

And this is us as wee ones. As you can see, Leia was just a
wide eyed girl kitten of about 6 months.
She hadn't been with us long at all and wasn't too sure of anything yet.

*** Mom said she had no idea how big I'd get.  :)
I was just a ball of floof when I adopted her.

Who Let the Pawparazzi Out??!!!

Dear furriends, we have a BIG problem. We can't believe this but, Mom has lost almost all of our pictures. Her computer died and she didn't have as many backed up as she thought she did.

WE don't think that's a problem, but Mom plans to take a zillion pics to make up for all she lost. Which means a lot more disturbances of us while we sleep, walk around, do pretty much anything.

This is Not.Good.

Happy Friday!

The Results Are In

I hope everyone can stand one more medical related post. I hope it's the last one for a very long time!

Toby's UA and Culture were sent to a professional lab. The results - he has a small bit of blood in his urine, caused by sterile cystitis. The bladder lining or uretha gets irritated and bleeds a bit. He unquestionably had a UTI last fall, but this time, perhaps not.

They are both now on Hill's CD food and will be for life. The vet believes this will help a great deal with the cystitis. The anal gland issue may well be related. If so, that should clear up in time.

So from now on, we just watch and wait and evaluate symptoms, if any.  When irritation and blood strike we will probably do Prednisone.

What caused the sterile cystitis? Stress could have. What MY cats have to be stressed about, I have no idea. I do my best to provide them with a happy, comfortable lifestyle. Maybe he's picking it up from me; I tend to be anxious. Or maybe Leia is making him unhappy with her recently evolved Gurrl Power.

Anyway, I will do what I can to increase their comfort level. Maybe add some Feliway plug ins? A cat masseuse? I believe we have one or two feline experts in that area in the CB. Purrhaps we could hire them? Apply within!

We want to thank all of our furriends and their families who have expressed concern for Toby's medical issues. It's good to have people to share these things with, who also understand what we went through.
