Story Time On World Spay Day

We're very strong supporters of being fixed in THIS house. For oh so many reasons. We would luff to live in a world where people are fighting over puppies and kittens, because there are so few.

Leia was spayed before we even brought her home from the Stabby Place to be my companion. She was living there waiting for someone to adopt her. Mom didn't want her to even meet me until her operation, since *I* wasn't fixed yet (too young).

And now, here's my story - which we don't think we've ever shared - about MY Fix It Day when I was oh so tender in months, but old enough. Mom made the appointment, denied me noms - meanie! - and took me in, protesting. BUT I had a fever that day! Ha. They couldn't snip me! I was very pleased with myself.

Until I went back two days later, and the snipping was successfully done. Mouses!

Mom's note: I swear he did it on purpose. No sign of illness at all, EXCEPT that morning when they took his temperature. But that's Toby for you.

  1. MOL, Toby! The Mom says that's like when we stop being sick when it's time to go to the doctor when we were sick the day before!
Carmine was snipped before he ever came home, too, but the Mom had to take Lita in to get fixed when she adopted her. The Mom hears Angel Jewel had a couple of kittens before she got fixed (so said her former owner). Interestingly enough, the kittens didn't look anything like her, MOL!

  2. I am glad you are both fixed, it is so important and you are healthier for it. You have a great Mom.

  8. When me and Eric were neutered the anaesthetic made us hyper after we got home. Mum says she will never forget the way we were tearing around bouncing off the walls and running all over her and dad all night long.

  9. Nice try, Toby, to not get snipped. But you knew it was bound to happen eventually. :)

  10. It wasn't so bad after all, was it, Toby? I had to have an operation so they could find the other you-know-what.

  11. Good stall, Toby! LOL But . . . we are advocates for spay and neuter too. All our kitties have been spayed or neutered.

  13. We just celebrated my 2-year anniversary of being spayed. Mom and Dad drove through a big blizzard to come pick me up. I don't remember too much about it other than being very sleepy.
    Yours sincerely,

  16. You only delayed the inevitable, Toby. But we do agree ... spaying and neutering is so, so important!

  17. Toby, two times without noms!! BUT...I bet you were spoiled in the time ytouy came home again. You know when Admiral was spayed, no one told her to come nomless so she'd had her breakfast! Gee whiz. That was the year 2000.
