Leia On Mancat Monday - Taking Over.

Hey, Orange Boy took Caturday, so I can take his Monday. And here I am!

One of the things I really luff to do is hang out with Mom. You know, just us ladies. When I hear her get done with her shower - and after all these years, I STILL think it's strange why hoomins need water to bathe in! - I come upstairs and we sit on the stair landing and just talk.

I tell her all about how carefully I groom my furs, and which spots are the hardest to reach. And about how Toby can be just beastly to me sometimes. She talks about her new purse, or that place she goes to so we can have green papers. If I do meow it myself, we communicate really well. And that is essential to a proper feline-hoomin relationship.

And then Orange Boy pops up because he has to have HIS Mom time, but that's a whole other story.

Happy week, furriends!

PSsssstt: I couldn't let Mancat Monday go by without a picture of ME!

The First Rule

of living with kittehs:

Never disturb the sleeping or resting kitteh. Change your plans - go upstairs instead.

They will often follow you, making you wonder WHY you did it this way in the first place.

Refer back to the First Rule.

Happy Easter Weekend

I am very, very thankful to say that this is quite an old picture.
But it's the one and only time Mom was successful in this particular humiliation,
so she has to use this one.

Anyway, we wanted to wish our furriends and their families
a wonderful Easter weekend.

A bow... a pink bow... !!!!
Tell me again, Mom, why LEIA didn't wear this??

Quotes About Kittehs

When I play with my cat, who knows if I am not a pastime to her more than she is to me? ~Michel de Montaigne, Essays, 1580

I had been told that the training procedure with cats was difficult. It's not. Mine had me trained in two days. ~Bill Dana

A dog, I have always said, is prose; a cat is a poem. ~Jean Burden

If the pull of the outside world is strong, there is also a pull towards the human. The cat may disappear on its own errands, but sooner or later, it returns once again for a little while, to greet us with its own type of love. ~Lloyd Alexander

The city of cats and the city of men exist one inside the other, but they are not the same city. ~Italo Calvino

There is no snooze button on a cat who wants breakfast. ~Author Unknown

You can keep a dog; but it is the cat who keeps people, because cats find humans useful domestic animals. ~George Mikes

... and purrhaps most appropriate of all, especially given very recent events, we leave you with this last thought:

If there were to be a universal sound depicting peace, I would surely vote for the purr.
~Barbara L. Diamond

Mancat Monday

A question...

Do you ever get that feeling that... well..

someone is behind you? Just wondering.

Happy Spring Monday.
PS: Leia got mom to post this kitten. I just wanted everybody to know that I am a big, strong tough mancat would never willingly consent to post a cute bit of fluff like this otherwise. Women!!

"Who Dun It?" A Tuesday Mystery

"Distinguished Ladykittehs and Mancats of the Blogosphere,
I, Judge O'McFluffyPants, report to you on a most serious matter:

The Case of the Chewed Up Tag!

"The hoomin of Chez Whiskeratti has asked me to get to the bottom of this,
and trust us, we will find the truth very quickly.

Our prosecutor will present the evidence to the court now. Take it away, Mr. Clawsbury."

"Thank you, Judge. Here we have the tag itself, clearly devastated -

OOPS! That's not it, this is my lunch time toy. My abject apologies.

HERE is the tag:

Now we present our potential culprits:

Leia, did you do it?  NO!
Toby, did you do it?  As if!
Not Me, did YOU do it?  Who me? I am always innocent!

::a short interval for a nap  due deliberations, weighing all evidence and suspect statements::

Conclusion: The culprit is -

::: technological difficulties... interwebz has gone down... we will return as soon as the
IT Mice get us back up!::

In the meantime, who do you think is guilty??

Mancat Monday

Yeah, I know, everybody got all oooohhhy and goooeyy over Leia's video. The shameless hussy.

So I'm posting this picture today to remind everyone that *I* am very handsome too.

Now, on to more impawtant matters.... we follow another very handsome male on Instagram,
only this one is a woofie. His name is Loki, a low content wolfdog. He and his hoomin go on all kinds of adventures together. If you haven't made his acquaintance, you should.

Happy Monday to all our furriends!

Happy Caturday!

Click here to watch on youtube

We have a first ever here at the Whiskeratti blog - a video! I, Leia, am being excessively cute. I've done this for years but this is the very, very first time I've allowed Mom to tape it for our blog furriends.

You can probably tell from this that I've forgiven Mom. In fact, I was a little bit worried I might have been too harsh; after all, the Back of Disrespect is a SERIOUS punishment. So I decided the video was justified.

We hope everyone enjoys this, and that you all have a wonderful weekend.

It's Wednesday!

Many silly hoomins think kittehs don't do anything all day - can you believe that?
Supervising ALL activities is a huge part of our daily work. Sometimes it even interferes with our naptime, but we go on. We're professionals.

As you can see, I am very involved with the laundry process.

Ok, Mom, the closet is ready to put your clothes away.

Make sure you do it NOW so they don't get all wrinkly and stuff, ok?

and now it's time for my well earned rest.

Leia Takes Over Mancat Monday

An Open Letter to Mom:

We need to talk. Last night you did something very, very rude. I know that Toby was having a yak attack on the bed in the wee hours, but snatching the barf towel you keep on it WHILE I was occupying it was unacceptable.

Yes, I understand there wasn't time to be polite and ask me to move - so you say - but I'm afraid I just can't accept this action lightly. I will consider the mitigating circumstances carefully, as I am a very fair ladycat, and render a final judgment later.

For now, go and think carefully about what you've done and how to be a better hoomin in the future. I leave you with the most painful punishment I can devise:

The dreaded Back of Disrespect.

Finally Friday

Woo!! Another week is gone... stick a fork in it, it is D.O.N.E. !!!

Recently I've expanded my lounging spots to include this extremely convenient location. This is right in front of the stairs; I can monitor both the upstairs and downstairs from this site, listen for promising kitchen sounds (right behind me), dart into the downstairs facilities (10 paw steps away), AND keep a watchful eye on my bestest 'nip toy. It prefers to hang out right in front of the first stair step. Bit of a creature of habit, that one.

Mom, being a Mom, placed this kitteh blankie here to make me more comfy. You know they just can't help themselves, they are always trying to improve stuff for us. When she left for work today, this is the picture she took.

PS: Auntie saw this picture and said I had.. had... BUN legs! As if! I ain't no rabbit, folks.
