Furriends & Fellow Bloggers, Lend Us Your Ears....

Rainbow Bridge New Resident
Our deepest sympathies go out to the family of Zoe (Animal Shelter Volunteer Life), a beautiful housepanther who passed away very recently. We grieve with her family; we rejoice knowing she was very well loved. Please visit her family. http://animalsheltervolunteer.blogspot.com/2017/09/fly-free-sweet-zoe.html

Because both of ours are wonky at the moment! I, the beauteous and brave and mighty Princess Leia, was diagnosed yesterday with ::whispers:: chiggers in one ear. HOW does that happen? No lady should ever have chiggers in the ear, it's just embarrassing. The vet guy gave me a shot of something (Ivermectin) and said that would hopefully kill the irritating little bug. But he didn't seem too sure about that, so maybe somebody out there has a suggestion for us.

And Toby, well, he definitely has infections in both ears (but no chiggers!). Yeast in one, bacteria in the other. He had to have his ears washed out (today and regularly), AND they really violated his dignity and his privacy AND his purrsonhood by attending to his ::more whispers:: anal glands.

:pawse:

On the whole, I think the anal gland thing is worse than chiggers.

Stay healthy, guys. We all know where we have to go if we don't!

  2. Yuck. Sorry to hear about the ear problems. We hope you both get better soon. Ernie has had some *whispering* anal gland issues in the past and he says it's really a pain in the patootie!

  3. OH what a thing to have. CHIGGERS in your ears! Mom went in some wetlands two summers ago and got eat up with them behind her knees and on her knee caps. Liked to have killed her with itching.

I have been to see Mom Tracey and daddy Kevin. It breaks my heart.

  4. I'm not even sure what a chigger is... but I hope I never get any! Bummer about Toby's ear problems too (and, um, the other thing). I hope you guys are all better soon!

  5. Yikes. Those chiggers and infections and, um, Toby's other issue sound not fun at all. We hope you kitties are all better real soon.

Thank you and your mom for stopping by, and for your kind and comforting comments about our sweet baby Zoe. We love you guys, and are so grateful for you.

  6. Neither sounds like much fun! One of dad's boys played near some questionable water when he was little and days later complained of an earache. When they took him to the doctor the doctor took a close look and saw, peering out at him, a tiny worm that had been chewing on the inside of the poor boy's ear!!

  7. Oh gosh, chiggers! I once got bitten by them on my feet. I know how horrible it is. I hope the shot got it die hard. And poor Toby for his ear issues and .....the violation of his dignity. Purrs to both Leia and Toby. xo

  9. OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH no my word I never heard of chiggers in the ears but then my mom was recently dealing with a sore and itchy belly button. He doc said she had a fungus infection in her belly button. Seriously, I must tell you mom has a very clean bb. We never heard of that either so a year for weird stuff for the ladies for sure. It is all better now after some magic cream!!
Toby not the anal gland expression. That is just wrong on all levels. You two have had a very stress week and stress can cause lots of weird stuff.
    Hugs madi your bfff

  15. LC (19893-2010) had horrible little mites in her ears when sghe was first rescued from a store, and the vet gave TBT an ointment to smear in there fer 2 weeks. No idea what it was now but it sure worked!

  16. Ears are one of those things we take for granted until there's a problem. We hope you're both feeling better soon! Until then ... you have the perfect excuse to not hear what Mom says ;)
