We always KNEW this would happen!
This is why our Mom needs to let us outside, so we can protect her when she is assaulted by....
VICIOUS CHICK-HENS!
The story: She was coming back from an early morning errand, when she sees that there are four vicious chick-hens (she didn't know they were vicious then) clustered around the front door. Which is odd, because we've never seen any here before (we live on a city street). She gets out of her car to come inside and then...
ATTACCCCKKKKK!!!!
One of them comes for her - and keeps on coming! She can't get in the house! Oh no! (note to all the Moms out there: purses are very useful for keeping murderous poultry away). She breaks free and runs inside. SAFE!
Mom's note: Turns out that they belong to the neighbors, and are escape artists. Also, they weren't actually attacking, they assume any human coming towards them has food for them. I assumed they were being territorial. Still, this ranks as one of the oddest experiences of my life. :)
Oh my gosh! There appears to be an epidemic of peeps being attacked apaw. I sure do hope your mom is okay. Next time she leaves the house, she should have a pocketful of corn or something. Or would that just attract them even more... hmmm....
ReplyDeleteBad things hapen when they start runnin in gangs like that! MOL!
ReplyDeleteToo bad you kitties weren't able to protect her... and have dinner at the same time!
ReplyDeleteyikes.....that would be weird (and a little scary)
ReplyDeleteI can't even imagine this! Outside of the hilarity I'm sure it was rather intimidating! If they were all hens there was no danger (except they do love naked toes sometimes). Glad you made it in the house safely. Did they come pick up their rogue free rangers?

I'm happy to say that they are gone now. I hope they don't visit again.
DeleteOh My Goodness! Mommy don't mind chickens, but when she worked on a ranch, one of the Domestic Geese used to attack her! She is stll scared of geese!

Nellie
Now if you kitties surrounded the chickens, we could give you a good recipe!
ReplyDeleteThat's very weird
ReplyDeleteWow, that's something you don't see every day (unless you live on a farm)! Glad to know it all worked out in the end. :)
ReplyDeleteRoosters are even worse than chick-hens! We're glad your mom is safe. Maybe now she knows they aren't vishus she could catch one for you next time so you can have your very own pet to play with.
