Woofy Wednesday

sigh I am very disappointed in my person. She brought a Sticky Little Person into the house the other night. I thought we were past all that nonsense, but apparently the last SLP grew up and had an SLP herself. When will this end? Pulling my hair, tweaking my nose, refusing to share her toy. I just don't know what I'm going to do about it. But I have some ideas....

The Hungrumblies

For the sake of the uneducated hoomins out there, I will explain how noms werk for kittehkind. There are different levels of Hungrumblies. It ranges from mildly aware of possibly being hungry soon to feed me or I'm going to explode into little bits of orange tufts RIGHT NOW (and take you with me!) This morning was the first stage.

I woke up before the hoomin and lay there awhile (on the 'lectric blankie) and started thinking about my morning noms. I remembered that we were very, very low on kibbles in the dishes. Only a few bits in there! Unacceptable, I tell you. So I started to focus my concentration and will on the lazy person who was still asleep, when I had needs to be filled! Aha! She's awake now! Sort of. I moved up a few inches and collapsed. I was faint with hunger by this time but she, being the clueless person that she is, thought I was just being cute.

It took one more move upwards before I really got her attention. I had to lay on the pillow next to her and just look at her with my great big eyes, blinking out the message FEED ME FEED ME. After a few head and chin scritches she finally got her lazy ***** out of bed and actually dished out some kibbles!

All that werk for a handful of measly dry kittehfood. Sheesh. She's lucky I stick around, I tell ya!

Lady Kitteh

I am a lady kitteh. Not just female, mind you, but a true lady. I have good manners, and I'm very polite. (Just ask my Mom). Not like Toby, who is sooooo not a gentleman mancat! He's very rough around the edges, you know.

Why, just look at my picture here. I'm sitting very pretty, tail in the proper position, front paws tucked in just so. I'm ready to be asked to a Christmas tea!

Questions Questions

Well, the Mom brought home this thing; it had good smell and was very lickable. We spent quite a bit of time thoroughly investigating it. You just never know, when the hoomins bring something home: is it alive? Will it eat us? Can we eat it? Will it make a mess on the floor?

And the most important question of all: is she gonna embarrass the tar out of us with it???? HOOMINS!!!!

I have to follow the scent when we're on our walks. Even if it's roundy-roundy-loop the loop, and drives my person crazy. I still have to go where the scent goes. - Cousin Max

Update on Marty the Kitten

Good morning, furrriends! It's a bit chilly here. Sadly we're getting more men with power tools today. Mom says it's necessary. Hmpf. We think she just wants to keep us from getting our proper rest. Cuz, y'know, she's jealous that SHE has to go to werk and WE get to stay home.

Anyway, we wanted to give an update on Marty the kitten. Recently we helped pass the word on his needing ultra expensive, lifesaving surgery. He got it! And he's doing really well now. He's going to have a normal, pain-free life.

Christmas Blogger Award

There are many, many fine kitteh blogs out there. We've been privileged to meet quite a few awesome, outstanding felines of great merit. Today we wish to honor two exceptionally special blogs.

Max the Psychokitty: Max was the first kitteh blogger our Mom showed us. We were immediately deeply impressed by his incredible snarkiness and worldly wisdom, yet he also has a soft side he tries to hide. And we quote: "I'm snarky, not mean". We insisted Mom buy his books and learned much thereby. He is an inspiration to us all, we think so!

Eric & Flynn's Adventures: We have a special place in our hearts for the orange ones, and here are two! We luff to visit them and find out what escapades they've been up to. The pictures they post are amazing - we think all of us get a bit wistful looking at all that luscious green grass to walk through, chew on and barf up (when needed).

So we say: Two paws up for Max, Eric and Flynn!!! (We'd make it four paws but then we'd fall over cuz we couldn't stand).

A Kitteh Christmas Poem

On the twelfth day of Christmas my hoomin gave to me:

Twelve bags of catnip!
Eleven tarter Pounce treats,
Ten ornaments hanging,
Nine wads of Kleenex,
Eight peacock feathers,
Seven stolen Q-tips,
Six feathered balls,
Five MILK JUG RINGS!
Four munchy house plants,
Three running faucets,
Two fuzzy mousies,
And a hamster in a plastic ball!!

Woofy Wednesday

I'm a stud. I admit it. People see me and the first thing they have to ask is whether I'm male or female. (I'm a short dog, what can I say?) Then, when they find out, the second question is whether or not my person is willing to let me, uh, fulfill my manly duties with a female they know. If it wasn't for the fact I'm fixed, my person could retire and spend all her time with me. We'd be living large on my stud fees. Hehehe. - Cousin Max

Things to Know About Leia

Hi, it's me, Leia! And I'm taking over today. I've watched the blog posts with concern - I don't get nearly enough time here. Between Toby and cousin Max... but I know they want to keep me quiet cuz I am so much cuter than they are. I'd steal the show. So here we go!

Things to Know About ME:

1. I LUFF my Turbo Track. Beyond reason. It's completely my reason for living. I lay on it, sleep on it, sit on it, scratch it... just everything. And I know the TT totally.. you know... gets me. Unlike Toby. I luff him too but he isn't kind to me like the TT is!

2. My two fav nap places: the TT and the washing machine. My Mom put a nice purple down throw there just for me.

3. I used to be...well... between homes, shall we say. My Mom found me in the office of the Stabby Place on the counter, in a carrier. I really hated that. It was so horrid to be stuck in that plastic tomb. I watched people come and go but then one day... My Mom was there. She took me home, introduced me to Toby and let me adjust to my Forever Home in my own way and time. That was FIVE YEARS ago. That's like a squillion years ago!

4. I luff Porch Time. I have my very own space out there: my tent. I like to sit there like the Princess I am, and watch the world go by. Toby never goes in there, cuz he's too.. well... :whispers:: fat. Doesn't fit in it at all. (Don't tell him I said that. He'll sit on me and SQUASH me!).

5. Oh, yeah, my Mom calls me Princess cuz she thinks I'm totally regal and refined. And I'm a petite girl, a bit under nine pounds. She says I have the prettiest green eyes ever!

Well that's all for now... with a regal wave of my paw, I bid you all a good Thursday!!!

Woofy Wednesday

I'm a very patient and tolerant pup. I'll put up with growls, kittehs, Sticky Little People, etc. And just look on with the wisdom of my (13) years. But when a larger, meaner terrier who has been growling at me for a full year on my walks decides to charge *my* person, it's time to stand up and take action. So I did. And sounded larger than my real self, if I do say so. Too bad both people had good grips on their leashes. It was time to teach that mean dog a few lessons!

Woofy Wednesday

Okay, so I see a cat crouched on the pavement, when I'm out for my walk. Usually I go nuts, but this one day, I was very good because I knew my person wouldn't allow anything else. I can only get away with stuff when *she* doesn't see the cat. But this one was right out in the open, oddly enough. So I slid toward the cat, hoping my person wouldn't notice. She didn't pay a lot of attention, and the cat just sat there. So, full charge ahead! Yeah! Run, kitty-cat, run. Right behind ya! Oops, end of the leash. See ya later, kitty. Next time, I'm slipping this leash! - Cousin Max

Toby and Leia's Note: Cousin Max is CLEARLY not a civilized woofy! Hmpf.

Marty the Kitten

We visited Max Psychokitty this morning. We read about Marty the kitten who desperately needs an amazingly expensive surgery.

Terrier Thursday

Oh, my goodness! A small little person - so young she had to be carried - grabbed my furs yesterday! And would not let go. I got even though, I sniffed and licked her face. But her mom didn't freak out. Next time, I'll have to do a better job. Like my Rottweiler cousin out in California got really even with a bothersome young 'un once. Kid would not leave him alone, so Rottie expressed his displeasure. Literally. Yup - he peed all over the kid. Now THAT's style. - Cousin Max

Hmpf.

Well, look, hoomin Mom person. When I want attention and snorgles, I want them. I don't care what else you are doing. I'm more important than anything else!!

Anyway, you have two hands, don't you? You can give me head scritches while you eat with the other.

I'm fair, after all.

Finally Friday

We made it to Friday, and everyone here is very happeh. But... oh and this is a big but.... THERE ARE STRANGE HOOMINS HERE WITH VERY LOUD THINGS (Mom says they are "power tools").

This is so terrible. We're having to post from under the bed cuz it sure is scary out there. We hope it ends soon. But Mom says it will be worth it - they are putting in ins...insil... stuff that makes the house warmer in the attic.

After this, we are gonna need a very long nap to recover.

Toby's Mystery Thursday

I'm a pretty big mancat. Weighed in at just a bit over 17 lbs at my last stabby place visit. Yeah, I've lost a little since Mom put us on this Evo food but still. I'm also a tall cat. Plus, I'm orange - I even kinda glow in the dark. I am very hard to miss.

So why, dear furrriends, does my Mom NOT SEE me so often? She is always, always tripping over me. I mean, she'll be doing something at the sink, say, and I'll just saunter up right behind her without making a noise and wait for her to notice me, like a polite kitteh does. But what happens? She turns 'round and trips right over me! Like I'm not even there! Sheeesh.

Ok, maybe it is just a little bit funny to see her go staggering across the room trying not to step on me, but y'know, it really kinda hurts my feelings.

Hoomins.

Woofy Wednesday

What's that you're carrying? An umbrella? You're making me walk through the torrential downpour (aka light drizzle) from Ida and *you* get the umbrella. Fine, be that way. Just watch me jump on all the furniture with my soaked (aka damp) self when we get back inside. Next time, you'll see to it that the rain stays away when I'm out for my walk, won't you? - Cousin Max

Easy Like Sunday

We're having a very nice Easy Sunday. The weather is gorgeous - just warm enuff to have open windows and Porch Time on demand - and Mom is busy doing housewerk and laundry, stuff like that. In between snoopervising, we are taking long naps.

It's a good day.

A Cold Caturday

Well, so far this weekend isn't turning out like we expected! Our HEAT bit the litterbox last night. And it got down to 35 degrees, our hoomin said. Yeowww!!!! COLD!!! We're convinced icicles were hanging off our furs at one point.

(Hoomin's note: No, there wasn't. It wasn't THAT cold inside).

Anyway, our hoomin says we have heating company hoomins coming out today to fix it. So keep your paws crossed for us that it all gets fixed today!!

UPDATE: We haz heat again!! Yeaaa for heating company hoomins!!

Finally Friday

Furriends, it has been a very long week, so we're very happy to make it to Friday! Four paws up for Fridays!!

We've been busy this week taking extra special care of the Mom person. So much bad has gone on - locally, at her day hunting place, and nationally - that it's just been seriously rough on our hoomin. We had to do lots of especially good purring, head butting and snorgling to get her through it all, but we did.

Just one more werk day to get through, and then we can all flop down and put our paws up in the air for two days!

Monday Monday

Good morning! Well, we all survived H'ween. Didn't do anything here, just kept the light off and stayed far, far away from the Sticky Little People. We don't want any of that here, no thank you very much!

Yesterday was quiet, a very relaxed Easy Sunday. We helped our Mom watch SyFy tv all day. We did that in bed cuz it was such a nasty, chilly, dreary day. That was fun!

And now it's Monday, our Mom is at work, and it's time for our all day nap-a-thon. Life is good!

Wednesday, October 28, 2009

Woofie Wednesday

Hoo-boy. Why do you let those Sticky Little People get near me? I promise to be good from now on... or until I forget. But they have sticky fingers and don't know how to pet. I don't mind them at a distance. But touching me? Nope, nada. - Cousin Max

Wednesday, October 21, 2009

Woofie Wednesday

I was out for my morning stroll, and had just finished attending to some bushes when I saw that ki-yote. He was bigger than me, standing not 20 feet away, just looking. Who did he think he was? That was *my* street he was standing on. So, i went on the offensive. Dang that leash, otherwise, I'd have caught me some ki-yote instead of just chasing him away.

- a very brave Cousin Max

From Max's Aunt: Max really did see a coyote in his Mom's apt complex parking lot. Apparently they are well adapted to suburban life.

Woofy Wednesday

My person can't possibly have the piglet flu or whatever it's called. I haven't seen the first pig or even heard an oinks. Groaning doesn't count, pigs don't groan. When it's time to go out for a walk, it's TIME to go out. Just deal with it. (But to prove how nice I am, I'll let her cut it short and cut out all my usual hi-jinks. Not even the pretend-to-get-excited-and-go-in-circles bit.) All I'll do in return is whiz on the neighbor's car. Hehe. - Cousin Max

Monday

Well, gentle kittehs of the CB, it's been a long weekend of napping and snoopervising the Mom's activities. Which wasn't much, since she was especially lazy and therefore boring. No mini disasters, traumas or even stubbed toe (which might have led to us learning some new and interesting werds. We are learning kittehs - we like to expand our vocabulary).

So here we are on Monday morning again. The Mom is off to werk, we're settling in for a long morning's sleep, and we wish all of you out there a giganormously wonderful week!!

PS: Keep Mr. Tigger in your purrayers. Looks like he was spotted near their home, so we are very hopeful to have good news this week.

PPS: Auntie Deb is having surgery today. She needs purrrayers too. Thanks!

She STOLE our bug!!

We, Toby and Leia, are absolutely furious with our Mom. She took our bug!!! That was OUR BUG! We were enjoying a late Caturday afternoon on the porch, when the bug hopped into our space. We started playing with it; Mom noticed we were up to something. Leia got really enthusiastic. I tried to tell her to chill out, not be so obvious but she just didn't listen to me.

So Mom came and helped the bug get away through the porch door. UNFAIR! We demand a new bug!

Later, when she's asleep, we're gonna go shed all over her. Hmpf.

Samantha is HOME!

The purrayers of the CB have been partially answered: Samanatha is home! Yes, home! But we still need to get Mr. Tigger back, so keep up the crossed paws, ok?

Rain Rain Go Away

Mom.

Yes, Toby?

It's raining. Please make it stop. Thanks!

Umm... I can't, O Great Fuzzy Orange One.

Of course you can! I've seen you turn off the waters inside the house. So you can make this stop too.

I appreciate the faith you have in me, Tobers, but I really, really can't make it stop.

But our furs are getting all wet when we go on the porch! MAKE IT STOP!

Ok.. how 'bout I close the front door? Best I can do.

(sulks off under the bed) Hoomins! Useless! Seriously.

Monday Monday

Good morning all kittehs of the CB! It's gonna be a rainy, somewhat chilly start to our week, so we're pretty much going to stay in the warm, soft places here. Our Mom has to go to werk but hey - someone's gotta do it. Better her than us!

We need everykitteh's purrayers for this one: Samantha and Mr Tigger (http://jcfloresinc.blogspot.com/) have gotten outside and have yet to return. They haven't lived in their new home very long.

Thursday poetry reading

I'm Only A Cat

I'm only a cat,
and I stay in my place...
Up there on your chair,
on your bed or your face!

I'm only a cat,
and I don't finick much...
I'm happy with cream
and anchovies and such!

I'm only a cat,
and we'll get along fine...
As long as you know
I'm not yours... you're all mine!

Confessions of a Housekitteh

Well. Our Mom has been feeding us Innova Evo, dry and wet. Sadly, the only wet flavor we like, Vishus Deer, does rather bad things to me on the way out. Leia doesn't have that problem, but I do. So we've just been on dry kibble.

And... we're losing weight!!! Not that Leia really needs to, but Mom says I'm a little too much mancat. Hey, I am only 17.4 lbs. Or I was. Dunno what I am now, but I'm getting a lot sleeker, I'm told. But now I'm worried - where will it STOP?? I eat just fine, but it's like I'm losing more than I take in - how will the foods know when to quit taking bits of me away?? Will it take my furs.... will it steal my tail??

Anxious kittehs wanna know!

We want to give a shout out to Melvin. He and his Mom are having a bit of a rough time, and they need some virtual hugs. Also, his Mom is a really talented artist and is selling sketches of kittehs. They are the AWESOME! http://mouchois.blogspot.com/

Mancat Monday

Wow, it was a busy weekend! There was the Catwalk Caturday... and Meow Like a Pirate Day... lots going on in the CB. It was fun but it's time now to get back to doing what we do best: nothing!!! Long naps, nomming, shedding fur, snoopervising the Mom. The usual.

And now, we leave you with this prayer to Ceiling Cat:

"Praise Ceiling Cat, yu be watchin us, yu can has cheezburger.

"Wut yu want, yu gets, srsly.
In ceiling and on teh flor.

"Giv us dis day our dalee cheezburger.

"And furgiv us for makin yu a cookie, but eateding it.
And we furgiv wen cats steel our cookiez.

"An do not let us leed into teh showa, but deliver us from teh wawter.

Woofy Wednesday

I'm as brave as the next guy, but when you're sniffing a gray lump on the ground that suddenly turns out to have wings and starts flittering around, a guy just is naturally going to take a few steps backwards. Unfortunately, my person laughed, so I had to show her. I tugged the leash out of her hand and scampered (her word, not mine) down the sidewalk. Even when she said, "Stop!" I kept going...until she grabbed the leash back and yanked me up short. I got even, though. I refused to move! She had to pick me up and carry me home. Serves her right...she shouldn't have laughed.

"If your cat snores or rolls over on his back to expose his belly, it means he trusts you."

Well. Ok - I do luff my Mom and I do trust her, but sometimes, a Full Monty is just a Full Monty, people. I just wanted to get a good stretch of the nether regions; and sometimes the furs on my tummy NEED to be aired out, don't you know?

So there I was yesterday, having my Easy Like Sunday naptime in front of the window, all twisted around and displaying my mancatly tummy to the world, when the Mom goes into her SQUEEEE mode. She didn't just snorgle my tummy once or even twice, oh no. She KEPT snorgling!

Seriously, woman, I know I'm irresistible and all but really - dignity, please?
