The Aliens Did It.....
We have an impawtant public announcement to make!
Everybody know Sammy, the Meezer? Well, clearly he's become too good at knowing the aliens' secrets, cuz they did something to him! Something MEAN! He has a poor, hurty mouth now, and we're convinced it's on account of them.
But maybe not... either way, he's gotta go to the Stabby Place next week for some dental surgery. And his the Mom could sure use a few extra green papers to help them get through this. So if you have any to spare, there's a Tip Jar on their blog. If not, purrayers would certainly be very welcome too.
Thanks, furriends. You're all good eggs. Which is a bit odd since you're kittehs but...

Our First Blogoversary

Uh Oh
Toby, Toby, Toby (shakes head sadly).
You're in trouble AGAIN. What did he do, you ask? I'll tell you...
He JUMPED ON THE STOVE this morning.
Happily it was off and cold but can you imagine if it wasn't?
Why? He wanted the Mom's attention and
she was wrestling with the garbage can. He's an impatient Orange Cat, for sure.
Anyway, she got very upset and scolded him, and he
went off and sulked for awhile.
Reporting to you live -
the good kitteh,
Leia

T.S. Eliot "The Naming of Cats"
The Naming of Cats is a difficult matter,
It isn't just one of your holiday games;
You may think at first I'm as mad as a hatter
When I tell you, a cat must have THREE DIFFERENT NAMES.
First of all, there's the name that the family use daily,
Such as Peter, Augustus, Alonzo or James,
Such as Victor or Jonathan, George or Bill Bailey -
All of them sensible every day names.
There are fancier names if you think they sound sweeter,
Some for the gentlemen, some for the dames:
Such as Plato, Admetus, Electra, Demeter -
But all of them sensible everyday names.
But I tell you, a cat needs a name that's particular,
A name that's peculiar, and more dignified,
Else how can be keep up his tail perpendicular,
Or spread out his whiskers, or cherish his pride?
Of names of this kind, I can you a quorum,
Such as Munkustrap, Quaxo, or Coricopat,
Such as Bombalurina or else Jellylorum -
Names that never belong to more than one cat.
But above and beyond there's still one more name left over,
And that is the name that you never will guess;
The name that no human research can discover -
But THE CAT HIMSELF KNOWS, and will never confess.
When you notice a cat in profound meditation,
The reason, I tell you, is always the same:
His mind is engaged in a rapt contemplation
Of the thought, of the thought, of the thought of his name:
His ineffable effable
Effanineffable
Deep and inscrutable singular Name.

NO!!!!!!!
Dear Furriends,
We are very much disturbed here at Chez Whiskeratti. Awhile back, Leia & I put our heads together and killed off the noisy beast our the Mom calls a "vacuum". It was a good day - no, a GREAT day for kitteh kind.
But now - she brought in a new noisy beast. How could she? It's going to take some doing to make this brand new noisy beast deaded, we think. So we're taking suggestions.
Unhappily yours-
Toby & Leia

Friday Flashback
We're looking back on Fridays and seeing where we were once upon a time.
Today, we're looking at proof positive that Leia was once bigger than I was.
(Mom says this is true. I still think it's a trick).
I admit she's about two months older than I am,
but I swear it's all angles and stuff.
(Biggify to get the full effect).

Two (Nip) Hamster Family. Again.
We don't think she's all that bright, even for a hoomin, but we luff her anyways.

Kitteh. Inna Sink
I've never been much of a sink girl. Oh, I luff to hang out on the edge and drink from the faucet, sure, but otherwise... never had a need to go deeper.
But here I am! I recently discovered how much fun it can be to just sit inna sink and contemplate the world. Toby used to spend a lot of time lounging in the bathroom sink when he was *a lot* smaller but he never did the kitchen sink thing.
I'm a trendsetter here. Who knew? :)
PS: Vote Pepper!!!!
