Happy Friday to All

Who doesn't luff Fridays? Get out there and enjoy yours!
PS: Mom says the fireworks are coming in a few days.
Can't we just cancel that??

So... we set up our GoFundMe for my dental stuff, as suggested by some of our furriends.
Frankly, we are embarrased to do this; well, not us felines - nothing embarrasses us! - but mom is feeling kind of low about this whole thing. So no pressure from us; we would certainly appreciate anything that may be contributed, but we totally understand how hard it is out there for most of us.

Purrayers and good wishes for my procedure and recovery are just as impawtant as green papers, too.

Rarely Wordless Wednesday

Leia:
Don't you just hate when Moms catch you doing something you don't want her to know about?
I kinda made a big deal about how I didn't care too terribly much for this very soft, warm, new throw we got but DARN if she didn't see me on it today. I only did it because... because... Toby has been hogging it for hours that's why.

Toby:
Listen, little tabby girl, Mom put this here for ME because I've spent the last two or three days and nights on the couch, and she wanted to make sure I was warm enough. My owwie parts are very much more owwie than yours, you know. Now I've been pushed to the back of the couch. Not fair!!

Mom:
I wanted to talk about something we haven't mentioned yet - Toby's teeth. He needs a dental, but we also discovered a few months back that he has resorptive lesions - teeth are starting to reabsorb into his jaw. That's as nasty as it sounds. At best we need extraction; he may even require his jaw drilled into, if we are very unlucky. And the price tag, of course, is also hideous - $700-1,200 (includes dental, bloodwork, everything). For us that is a LOT of money. This procedure can only be done at one of two local hospitals. It requires special Xray equipment to see exactly what they are dealing with.

I'm told this is also painful. I've watched him carefully and as yet, we are definitely not at the excruciating phase, but I won't doubt the professionals' word on this. It's a progressive condition.

If all goes well, this will probably happen in February. That's Cat Dental Month,
and we are hoping for a discount from the vet to help with the cost.

We sincerely hope none of your cats require this procedure.

Meowwy Christmas to All

Not a creature was stirring... and especially better not be any
nasty mousies out there, they wanna think twice with Leia the Mighty Huntress around!

Happy almost Christmas to everyone.

Here we are, testing out the new gift Auntie Mary gave us - she crocheted this wool throw for us! Ok, TECHNICALLY it was for mom, but she shares. As you can see, we have passed this throw with highest marks.

It's Wednesday!!

I'm very excited to announce that thanks to my long distance love Brody (15 and Meowing) I'm the proud owner of TWO adorable little houses. Mom says I'm becoming quite the little real estate tycoon-ess.

Thanks Brody!! I'll sit in here and dream of you.

And now here is Toby, showing everyone what he's been up to.

Leia Reports on Monday

...except that I don't have much to meow about. It's been pretty quiet here lately.

Although I did HISS at Toby yesterday. Mom doesn't really know why; she
knows we were hanging out in front of the glass door; something happened,
I walked away and as I was carefully, daintily, placing my velvety
tiny paws on the floor, I turned my head and HISSSED at that orange beastly boy.
I've never quite done that before so Mom was very surprised.

Well, a lady keeps her secrets, so she can just keep on wondering.

The thing that Toby was laying on the other day was mom's fleece jacket.
Very, very warm and cuddly. So naturally she takes it back and gives us
a towel in its place. Meh. Not nearly as good.

And yes, we KNOW it's been very cold out there! So what,
we both really liked that jacket.

SURVEY!!!

** a few weeks back, Katie Isabella posted about her mom's kitteh PJs. Our mom has several themed pieces of sleepwear.. so... here's a survey - do your hoomins have themed sleepwear??

Happy Caturday

Now that I'm awake... I have stuff to meow about!

1. Did you know that little hussy girl posts when I'm zonked out?
I don't really think that's FAIR, do you?

2. ... I totally could have, and planned to, yak up a hairball
on that d***ned mat, but she beat me to it. That's not fair either.

3. A totally random fact about ME: It's my job to greet mom when she wakes up every morning.
Lots of the time I'm right on the bed, so it's easy but sometimes I have to come back
from other parts of the house, stopping what I'm doing, just to greet her and
snorgle with her and make sure she knows she's loved.

You younger ones may not realize this, but hoomins are so fragile, they really need
lots of looking after.

And now I have other stuff to do - very IMPAWTANT - stuff, so mom has a few words to say.

Mom's note:

I went to Petsmart looking for a better wand/fishing toy for Leia. It's so hard to find anything that looks truly sturdy and meant for cats with sharp teeth and fast claws. Too many bits that will fall off and get swallowed in a heartbeat. Toby likes watching her be crazy but isn't really into chasing stuff around. But don't try to get between him and his stuffed critter; he gets that nip-high and off he goes.

Also, I noticed Grumpy Cat has a Christmas line of toys. They sure are marketing the tar out of her, aren't they? I've long been a fan of GC, even have a stuffie (for me) but I'm beginning to be slightly uncomfortable. They are making a fortune off her medical condition. It's hard to put into words but ... Maybe it's because I see my cats as family members, and I sure wouldn't want to profit off a condition they had. Obviously she's not aware of this but....

I just hope her quality of life is through the roof with all this.
