It's a Wild Life Sunday
You know, we are off duty today, so we gave mom purrmission to talk about local wildlife.
If you are a bird lover - sorry, Trout Town Tabbies! - this red hawk is for you.
We know the mom over at Army of Four LOVES her birdies.
This guy lives on or near our street. Last year I'm certain there was a hawk's nest in the big tree over our house. May still be there for all I know. The other day he was on a stop sign, I disturbed him as I drove by, so he relocated himself. Right across from my house.
And now for the wildlife IN my house. Stop now if lizards squick you out.
I *think* he's an albino Gecko. Closest I can find on Google.
For some reason lizards like coming into my house. I saw him the other day in my laundry room, so I thought maybe he came in through the dryer vent that connects to the outside? I blocked off the door bottom so he couldn't escape but turns out, if he did come in through the vent, he didn't or couldn't exit that way.
By the way, that is dryer lint he's holding on to so fiercely.
I actually did try to remove it but he for sure wasn't letting go.
I actually did try to remove it but he for sure wasn't letting go.
I was able to scoop him up in a towel - this worked last time when my fierce huntress Leia carried her prize into the bedroom - and tossed him outside. And discovered that he is unable to use his back legs, either of them. Broken or fused or whatever, they just aren't moving. He's still fast enough though, and clearly he's been eating something. But I doubt he has a long life out there, in the wilds of my yard, with those legs. I *almost* kinda feel sorry for him, but he's on his own.
I really wish all life, aside from my cats, would stay OUTSIDE.

We hope everyone has a wonderful Memorial Day;
but also, please remember those who gave to make this day a reality.

Finally Friday - Toby Edition
Sighs.
You know what, for a loooong time I had this table all to myself.
And now? The little purr-in-ski just helps herself to MY space anytime she wants to.
What's a fellow to do??
Go hang out with my buds, Cornelius Croc and the Lion guy.
Even if I'm not too sure about that lion guy.
Happy Friday.

Tiny Tabby Tuesday
Trust the pawparrazi to take the most unflattering pics.
My hiney is quite tiny, believe me!
Unlike hers.
I strongly suspect she did this on purpose.
Hoomins have such a juvenile sense of humor.

It's Caturday - with Royal Wedding Bells!
And today, an American became a Princess!
(ok, yes, we've read all about the naming conventions, don't care,
it's Princess Meghan as far as we are concerned!)
While not especially a fan of Princess M. (never seen her acting work
though she seems like a nice person),
Mom IS still a big admirer of Princess Diana, and has followed her sons' lives.
Princess Kate is awesome too, and we wish all four of them,
with their assorted children and those to be, the happiest and most blessed of lives.
In more local news...
Mom has enhanced the (formerly) dining table napping options for us.
I look kind of funny here, don't I? This is what happens when you
get ear meds every freakin' day.
Very hard on the furs.
Mom got the meow from Next Door.com that a group is doing
Trap, Neuter & Release in our neighborhood next week!
They are asking that those of us who feed strays, to not feed on the 23rd.
Hopefully this will include the one that comes around here. It's possible he/she already got gotted, since Mom noticed that he didn't eat for about two days last week, which is very unusual.
It's also heartening to know that other people around here feed those in need.
And lastly, we have very sad news to share:
We are very, very sad for him and his.
We hope his furry ones take good care of him right now.

Tuff Tuesday
So, it was supposed to be MY day but uhh... Toby... has something to whine talk about.
Whine??!! I was cruelly treated out there in the harsh world,
and now YOU are being a brat about it??
Mean, that's what you are, girl. Just wait till it's your turn.
And I'm not looking at the camera because I absolutely refuse to cooperate with mom today.
Yep, you guessed it, yet another Stabby Place visit. Ears. Again. Stupid ears. Stupid Stabby Place.
In the rain, no less. Actual rain drops TOUCHED my furs!!
Ok, mom did hold the umbrella over my PTU but I definitely felt the cold and wet stuff.
And I was there all day (mom: one hour, 20 minutes)!!
But I showed her. I wouldn't come talk to her for hours and hours and days
(mom: about 5 minutes)!
However, there was fried chick-hen after. Mom and I have an agreement about that...
acceptance does not constitute forgiveness, so that's ok.Sunday, May 13, 2018
Mom Day Sunday
Mom, we have a gift for you in honor of the day.
For all the noms fed, all the facilities scooped,
all the 4 am barfing, the 3 am demands to eat NOW,
Toby's whapping you in the face,
all the Stabby Place visits, that one time Leia bit you on accident,
all the sweeping up of shed furs, not to mention the endless hairballs,
all the 4 am barfing, the 3 am demands to eat NOW,
Toby's whapping you in the face,
all the Stabby Place visits, that one time Leia bit you on accident,
all the sweeping up of shed furs, not to mention the endless hairballs,
We present this:
Peace in the valley.
Also, Toby let you see him licking my ears.
Just a cherry on the cake for you.
You're welcome.

Happy Caturday
We're helping Mom make the bed.
Exactly - it's a group effort, as you can plainly see~
Today we are going to talk about the Chewy item we DID like
a whole lot -
These Halo chicken freeze dried treats
Good for kittehs or woofies, these can be used as a stand alone treat or a foodables topper.
For kittehs, it's better to tear them apart a bit.
Mom just crumbles them when she's using it as a topper.
They get 3.5 paws up from us!
Enjoy your weekend, furriends.
Disclaimer: The treats were free from Chewy to review, but the opinions are strictly ours.

Mancat Monday
Well, so begins another week. Let's see what might be happening around here...
We're proud to announce we are now part of the Chewy Influencer Program!
We just received our first shipment of stuff to try. Of course, mom chose foodables.
I and Love and You Variety Pack of canned stuff.
And our verdict is :
We'd like to say it knocked off our furry socks but it didn't.
We did find it adequate and nommed it with no problems.
It just seems like a fairly basic pate style canned food.
Yeah, we know that's not a stellar review but, there you are.
And here is the disclaimer:
We received this product for free to review.
Our opinions are what we honestly think.
BUT stay tuned, dear furriends.. in a few days we will post the OTHER review!!
Teaser: we liked that one a whole lot better.
Now get your people out the door so they can earn our kibbles and treat money.

Finally Friday - Housekeeping Notes
Dear Housekeeper,
Regretfully, Leia and I are putting you on a PIP (Purrformance Improvement Plan)
for the tardy, and extremely noisy, way you prepare our meals.
Yes, we do understand that the floor doesn't sweep itself of dried foodables bits.
And that plates have to be cleaned before new wet foods can be put on them.
And, yes, we certainly do understand that this requires such things as running water, popping tops, and the more than occasional banging into things while you are working on the buffet for us.
Still. It all takes too long and when we wanna eat, we wanna eat NOW, lady. We don't want to hear excuse after excuse about why we can't.
Oh, and I DON'T luff it when you trip over me, Toby, either. Just thought I'd mention that while we are at it. Doesn't matter that I am RIGHT THERE, constantly, supervising every moment of the process.
If you don't improve in a timely manner, we will have to take steps.
we aren't quite sure what steps those will be but steps WILL be taken.
- Sincerely,
Toby and Leia
