Today we'd like to show you what our Mom got recently. She's quite proud of both of them!
We helped by being the Lovely Assistants, modeling them.
This bit of artwork was created by the very talented and handsome Quint of Colehaus Cats. It's a limited edition paw painting based on Starry Night. It came with a tiny easel. If your 'rent is looking for an original creation, we highly recommend visiting his shop.
Ok, this wasn't cat-created, but it was hand made by the husband of Max the Psychokitty's mom. (And just for the record, Toby objects to being the "Lovely" Assistant. He insists on being known as the Completely Handsome & Noble Mancat Putting Up with More of Mom's Silliness Graciously.)
He also has other stuff in his Etsy shop. Totally worth a look.
**Mom's photography doesn't do justice to either of these.
Thank you for fixing our thermostat. Now it runs the proper amount of time, not too much and not too little. And now all our thermometers agree with each other, instead of a ten degree difference. Our Mom is very happy that our electric bills will be under control now.
More green papers for us is good, since that means more good stuff for all of us here. We even forgive you for driving us UTB.
However, we do have a MOST SERIOUS issue with you: you brought those vile, nasty, why-do-they-even-exist??!-fleas into our formerly flea free home.
Now we itch and must endure that cold wet stuff on our necks. Mom is doing a lot of grumbling over this too, so not only do we itch and have to endure that cold wet stuff on our necks, we have to put up with her crankiness.
And also now begins a 21 day cycle of Noisy Beast visits. Every.single.day that thing will come out.
and let's stop right there. Do you ever dread, or feel suspicious about, their shopping trips? You just never know what they are going to drag home, do you?
And after today, we will carefully inspect everything she tries to get in the door. Because we might just want to put down a firm paw on it.
She bought a new sofa. A NEW SOFA!!! Do you, dear furriends, know what this means?
• Strangers in the house
• Rearranging of everything in the living room!!!
• A complete disruption of all that we have been comfortable with for years now
Ok, well, we might be willing to consider this. It does add extra seating for us all, and more impawtantly, will keep Mom from sometimes making us move from the bed during the day for her own naps, etc.
And she swears she did all she could to make this as feline friendly as possible.
We wish all our furriends and their families a wonderful holiday weekend.
To our furriends who have lost loved ones, especially recently, we know this will be a difficult weekend. You have our warmest good wishes. Jasper's family - we know you aren't American so this isn't your holiday, but still, we are thinking of you today as well.
PS: Mom wants to know if anyone's hoomins are brave enough to venture out shopping tomorrow? Or tonight?
The feline community here is taking the day off, so it's my turn!
And I want to talk about... litter box liners. It's unbelievable what I've been going through lately just to find durable liners. Unscented. Not even going to talk about price, either. Until recently we used Jonny Cat liners. Those critters were very tough.
Then they started carrying only the scented ones. Anyone who knows cats, knows they hate scented stuff. Also, who wants to do anything to risk putting them off using the boxes? That's got to be one of the Top 5 in Unwanted Cat Issues! I've tried two others since, neither were very good.
FINALLY I found a good substitute today - Boots & Barkley liners. So far I'm very pleased with them. Paws crossed that they don't start with scents.
In other random news.....
I had to verify that I'm not a bot earlier today. What this site used was amazing and unique. Never seen anything like it, so I made a screen shot. And here it is!
Wishing everyone and their furry families a great pre-Thanksgiving week!
My Mom and I were snorgling today. She was giving me the usual - head and tail scritches,
letting me rub my chin against her face, all the normal stuff.
She also likes to give me big compliments. Which I love and agree with. Yes, I'm beautiful, soft, graceful, intelligent, wonderful, with the most beautiful green eyes, and I especially agree that Toby does NOT deserve me. I love him, but he really is a cad with me.
Then she starts with how I'm the most beautiful, etc, kitteh in all the world. And I realize - she says pretty much the same thing to Tobers! When I point this out to her, she says the same thing can be true for all kittehs in the world at the same time. That we are all the most beautiful, wonderful, etc., ever ever ever.
There is a flaw here somewhere, I'm just not sure where.
Well, Mom took me to the Stabby Place yesterday afternoon. At least it wasn't on Caturday!
I was not pleased, and I let her know with a few well timed meoWWWs in the car. But not on the way back, I was too tired.
Oh, the indignities I suffered! The lady vet there was ...ok... I guess... who can ever say their vet is NICE? These people poke and prod us, and deserve a good whap for it, I say.
Mom said there was a pretty, white furred ladykitteh in the waiting room. I wouldn't know, I didn't want to meet her. I don't want to talk to my own ladykitteh at home, why would I want to meet a strange one?? (Mom is laughing. I don't know why). Then I came home to recover. Mom has the rest of the report:
The vet looked at the slides and said she only saw fatty material, so we are pretty sure it's nothing. We're waiting on the official lab report, which will be back in a week. We want to thank all our furriends for their well wishes!
This morning our Mom was giving us scritches and pats. It was a nice thing so early in the morning, right before we started our early naps. And then - WAY before we were ready - she says she has to go take a shower so she can go off for the day.
She does this every.single.day. We complain but she just says she's not self-cleaning like we are, and it has to be done.
So we thought - doesn't this seem like a serious design flaw in hoomins? Ok, just one of many, it's true, but this is really annoying. And perplexing.
Maybe Ceiling Cat can fix this.
***** the above confused and irritated kitten tot is NOT one of our household. Merely a dramatic reenactment. Thank you.
This is dedicated to eradicating the evil that is declawing felines.
She's designed a really pawsome tote bag, the proceeds of which
will be donated to the Project. Please go by and check out this
message, and if you can, whap your 'rents until they go and buy
this tote too.
Furriends, it's a lovely Caturday here. A bit chilly outside.
But there is one thing.... WHY do hoomins have the hardest time
resisting my furry tummy? She keeps rubbing her face in my warm, orange
floof, disturbing my rest. Does this look like a tummy to take liberties with to you ?
I don't understand it. If not for this... intrusion.... I'd be happily
Here I am, demonstrating one of kitteh-kind's most Special Rules:
1. No matter how good the sleep spot, it's ALWAYS better with Mom's (or Dad's) clothes on it.
Awhile back, Mom put out these clothes for me to use, on a permanent basis. And that was really nice, I always sleep there.
But yesterday, she added these awesome jeans to the mix. Only now she says
it was an accident, she just tossed them there for a moment, but since I have clearly
appropriated them, it seems only just to let me keep them.
I'm determined on this matter. This is my determined face. Do you see it?
Looky! My very own new apartment, conveniently located in our house. Right near the food bowls and the pursonal facilities. Plus, rent and utilities are FREE. Who can ask more than that ?
As you can see, it's quite spacious. The front and back entries are nicely cut for easy access, with high sides to allow for proper lounging. Mom let me move in right away.
And the floor is made up of something Mom calls Publix shopping bags. Her sister mailed them to her as packing materials for something else, but they make a wonderful addition to my apt. And they smell really good too.
