Toby Thursday

  • Happy Thursday!

  • I was looking for Leia to do today's post but I don't see her anywhere. She's been kind of miffed since my last post, so she's been sulking. Or possibly plotting revenge... She's a girl, you never know.
Anyway, mom decided to give me a manicure last night. I informed her very clearly I was not pleased. I even hissed and growled at her! Such fierceness I displayed.

And she... she... Told me to quit it. Not scared at all. MOUSES!! OK, I've never actually followed through with that threat but still. She could have pretended to be scared, couldn't she???

  3. Toby, I think she was bluffing. I think she was at least a little scared. You are a strapping mancat after all.

  4. Toby, you poor guy! But listen--don't remind our mom that it's been a million years since she's tried to do anything with our toes!

  5. Maybe she was pretending not to be scared! I’m sure you looked quite fierce, Toby :-)

  6. Toby, our mom does the same thing to us. Sometimes it’s best to grin and bear it.

  7. Toby, consider yourself lucky - my human's boyfriend has to hold Binga in a vet tech hold to get her claws clipped! That's because she DOES follow through on her threats!

Don't worry, I keep an eye on the humans to make sure they treat her nice, and we all get treats when she is done.

  8. Clearly, you belong in the "Cats Who Don't Like Manicures" club. And just as soon as we Colehaus Cats invent that group, being as we hate those, too, you can be a member!

  9. You and Bear both, Toby. Bear pitches such a fit when I clip his claws, that I was sure it hurt him somehow. I think I asked the vet if this was possible at five consecutive yearly wellness visits. I got the impression they were laughing at me. Bear rarely hisses - but he's like you, Toby ... clip his claws and it's a hissy party.

  10. Maybe you need to hiss louder next time, Toby.

  11. Amarula does the same thing when I do her nails - she screams and hisses and lungs for my fingers but NEVER bites--I am always scared to death but she never actually follows through! I think she must get a lot of pleasure from seeing the fear in my eyes!

  13. I don't know, Toby, we think you would be very scary if you hissed and growled!
