It is with the heaviest heart I inform you that Toby, my orange boy and the cat of my heart, also passed over the Bridge on Jan. 22. In his case it was obstruction, likely brought on by crystals. He showed distress so I took him to the ER vet about 8 pm. We made the decision together that a gentle release was the kindest option. Unlike Leia, he was plagued for years with multiple health issues. He was tired of hurting, of multiple vet visits, and treatments.
This has been a truly awful month for new angels. Both of mine, plus Ellen's Tallulah, and I just read about Nerissa's Life losing their Andy suddenly. I think in Toby's case, he just couldn't cope with the loss of his house mate. Like her, he was 15.
I don't know what will happen with this blog. I'll visit sometimes, it's hard to lose all my blogosphere friends; I think we started this blog in 2007.
Condolences are not required, we've all had to offer so many lately. I still haven't had the heart to thank everyone who left them for Leia. To go through this again three weeks later just seems too much to bear.
Oh my god, this is just so very terrible. I am crying as I feel this heartbreak for you again. We are so sorry. 💔
ReplyDeleteDear Cathy,
ReplyDeleteI sure do understand how you feel about the blog...it is very hard to give up all our dear friends. I hope you will see a particular day or hop i.e. wordless Wednesday or Awww Mondays, etc that you can stay connected with all of us. Maybe you can take us on some exporation around your city. Take care of yourself...the adjustment is a process it takes the time it takes. You are a very valued friend with such sweet comments.
With tons of understanding and many hugs. I'm here for you.
Cecilia
Oh no, we're so sorry you have to go through this again. Purrs and hugs
ReplyDeleteOh no, I am so sorry for your loss of dear Toby. I am sure you are right and that he couldn't cope with losing Leia. I send you love and hugs.
ReplyDeleteIt is far too early to decide what to do yet, but like you, when Eric and Flynn had passed I didn't want to lose all my friends I had made over the years.
Take time to grieve, then if and when you are ready maybe you could do Flashback memories posts. Whatever you decide on, we are all here to support you.
I am in tears for you. This is so unfair. Sending you love and hugs. XO
ReplyDeleteWe can’t even... We are so very very sorry.

We are so heartbroken over here - for you, and because we loved Toby (and Leia) too, and they were a significant part of our extended blogging family. I can't believe they are both gone in such a short period of time (even though it makes sense in a way, because they were family, and bonded). Many, many purrs to you. <3
ReplyDeleteEach and every departure is like losing your heart all over again. I am so very sorry that you have had to go through so much in such a short period of time. The price of our love for our companions lies in great pain when they leave us, always too soon.
ReplyDeleteHugs,

PS: I like to think Nellie Bellie was there to meet Leia and now Toby when they went over the bridge.
I know you said that condolences are not required, but you most certainly have them nonetheless. My heart goes out to you, and my thoughts and prayers are with you very heavily right now. May you find peace and comfort in the fond memories you share with your beautiful angels. Until you all meet again.

We just learned that your Toby Heart Cat went over the Bridge. Our Best Purrs Of Comfort to you. Words can never fully express our sympathy over this loss, but we offer them...
ReplyDeleteTBT says that when Beins and Cats first lived together, they made an agreement. That Beings would provide shelter and warmth and daily food and we cats would catch pests and use litter boxes. And that both would be companions in good times and bad. But also, because Beings lived longer, they would make our passage from this world easier when we were old or hurty even when they did not want us to leave them.
We honor your hard choice...
Purrs and prayers - our hearts go out to you.
ReplyDeleteI am deeply sorry to hear about the loss of your sweet Toby. Any animal is hard to lose, but when it is your soul cat it is even that much harder. I know that words sound very empty right now, but please know, each of us who has left messages understands and have been right where you are. Go gentle on yourself, it's been very rough with the loss of Leia and now Toby. It will take a long time to find your new normal, but I will be thinking and praying for you. Big hugs.
ReplyDeleteWe are so very sorry for Toby's passing, and for Leia's too. We're sending our purrs and hugs to you, though we know that words are little comfort.
ReplyDeleteWishing you peace in your heart, in time.
