Yep, marbles! Today I was in a parking lot, looked down and there was a very nice marble on the pavement. And it instantly took me back to the days when I loved them.
I don't think I actually played much with them, I just liked collecting the pretty ones.
Moving on to other stones..
Diamonds or pearls?
Today for an interview I wore my real pearl necklace. They are real, from Steinmart, only cost about $12 but they are real. Freshwater, cultured for probably a day, but still real pearls.
And you can tell just by touching them they are. I can only imagine what the high end pearls are like.
If I ever had any real money, I'd buy a top shelf pearl necklace, over any diamond necklace anyday. There is also a certain mystique to pearls that I don't think any other gems have.

Men can answer what they think their female loved ones prefer.
I hope finding the marble was a sign of good luck along with wearing the pearls. XO
ReplyDeleteWe love marbles! I find one every now and then, and they kind of take me back to childhood, too. :)
ReplyDeleteI hope your pearls brought you good luck for your interview. We're purring and praying for you.
Survey Monkey wants me to sign up for an account when I click on your link. Is it supposed to do that?
DeleteNo it was not. Hopefully I got that fixed now.
DeleteTBT: Any reason why a guy couldn't want a pearl necklace? Ok, yeah I don't. Actually, I don't wear any jewelry items, not even a metal wristwatch band (mine is velcro).
ReplyDeleteBut I love green, so I would go with emeralds.
I used to love playing marbles as a child and built up quite a big collection.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't vote because it said I has to create an account even though I tried logging in with FB and Google.
I'm really sorry you had problems with my survey. I think I have the link fixed now.
DeleteOhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I do hope the interview went well
ReplyDeletePearls...after my mother in law passed, we were sorting thru her things. We found her beautiful blue velvet box that contained a string of long string pearls my hubby gave her. Also in side the box was a picture of our wedding announcement. She meant for me to have them and I do.
Eventually I had another necklace made with sapphires and pearls
and one made for my daughter too

I used to play marbles back in grade school, and got pretty good at winning. I remember winning a "steelie" marble from another boy, and I was pretty proud of that. LOL
ReplyDeleteOMG I used to LOVE marbles! The cat's eye ones especially (surprise, surprise). I never even see them anymore!
ReplyDeleteI recently watched a show, which detailed how they actually make marbles...at least, the 'cat's eye' ones! Fascinating! I love marbles too, but don't want any diamonds or pearls. My goal is the dig up my own precious stones someday; I hear there are several places in the USofA where you can dig!
ReplyDeleteWhen I was a child, I collected marbles, too! I loved the round shape and various designs :-)
ReplyDeleteI think pearls are elegant!
I know I've lost my marbles, and I don't think kids play marbles any more; it's a shame really, I've seen them used in flower vases and such ....best best fishes to you on the job...984 pawz crossed ! :) ♥♥
ReplyDeleteWhen I was a child, going over to my Grandparents' house meant I got to play with the huge tub of marbles they had. I was so fascinated by all the different colors and patterns - and every time, I managed to see something new that I hadn't noticed before.
ReplyDeleteI LOVED and still do, pretty marbles.
ReplyDeleteI lucked out and got a 20" pearl necklace while living overseas for a smaller amount that I would have expected. And a 2 pearl ring too, the same day. I have some cultured round ones as well from the past 15 years, pink, opalescent black/gray and white-- 1 each. Set in white gold.
I love marbles and pearls!! Good luck on your interview
ReplyDeleteOur mom loves marbles. At the house she had, there had to have been lots of kids through the years, since Mom would actually dig up long-lost marbles. She keeps her found treasures in a glass jar.
ReplyDeleteI used to love to play with marbles! I keep a big mason jar full of them in my quilting Studio. You know ... in case I think I might have lost them ... nope, there they are! :)
ReplyDeleteI hope your interview went well! I vote diamonds AND pearls.
