Happy Caturday

Well, this morning was pretty wasted. I got dragged off to the Stabby Place
(They STOLE my bloods!), the car ride, the PTU, everything.

However, I acted like a stern mancat.
I made sure to announce my prescence in the waiting room. I promise you everyone knew
*I* was in the building. And I definitely scolded those rude people in the treatment area too.

(And just why couldn't my Mom be there when they did stuff to me? Just because I'm big and strong and pretty darn pawsome doesn't mean I don't want my mom with me.)

Anyways, I'm done with this day. See y'all next week.

Mom's note:
We have a new vet here in Florida, and he wanted more bloodwork for the thyroid issue. I really don't like it when they take my cats back to the treatment area. I know sometimes it's neccessary but frankly I prefer to see just what they are doing.

  1. Oh my word do I hear you and agree Toby. My vet did the exact same thing when they were stealing my p.p. all 87 times! Mom never likes me to be out of her sight medical things happen 'cause she wants me to know she has not left me high and dry!
Bless your heart we hope and purr all this will result in good information and not need repeating.
    Hugs madi your understanding BFFF

  2. Be brave Toby!! Amarula wants to know if you want to vet beat up and Frodo wants to know if you want a hug.

  3. Aw, Toby. We're sorry your Caturday was ruined like that. We hope you got some treats for all your trouble.

Island Cat Mom here...I agree, I don't like when they take them into the "back room" too, but they do it all the time.

  4. Toby! Darling! Mes agrees, ones human SHOULD always be there to hear our complaints about the Stabby Place!
    Mes hopes yous bited somebody!!!
    Many Kisses (and commiserations)

  5. Oh Toby, I'm sorry you had to go to the vet! I don't like when my boys are taken to the back room, either. I hope you get a good rest after the stressful day!

  6. Mom Sharon here...I like to see what's going on too.
Thanks for your kind comments about Cousin Trooper. He was a super ManCat and we will miss him.

  7. Can you believe my human is okay with them taking us back? She's cold!

  8. I hope your blood work comes back good. Our vet takes the cats out back to and I don't like that. Years ago, they used to do everything in front of us.

    1. I would love an answer to that...why they do that. Admiral pretty much had her things done in front of me.

  9. ME TOO! I have blithely just followed along on many occasion and as they "look" at me, I just say "Hope you don't mind" and they usually don't haver the wherewithal to object. Now. If they are going to do serious things I may not insist...I may. Haven't had that occasion since Katie came to rule.

  10. Hope everything is ok, Toby! Our mom always says she prefers to stay with us, so they do all the shabby stuff, etc. with her in the room. She is a very calm person and it helps us relax. Maybe once you get to know the new vet, your mom can work something out with him/her.

  11. The staby place is NOT fun. You are handsome and brave Toby. We hope your Mom gave you extra cuddles and treats to make up for things.

  12. I think a long, comfortable nap is the best way to rid yourself of the aura and stink of the Stabby Place. You go to sleep feeling all creepy and ill-used, and when you wake up, it's a new day just like it never happened. It's kind of a crime it happened on Caturday, though. There shoulda been bacon or something after, to make up for it.

  13. My Toffee sends her commiserations for your ordeal. She had to visit the Stabby Place not long ago and knows it can be stressful - even though it did cure her of her ailment, for which she is grateful.

  14. Oh, we don't like it one bit when we can't go back with our kitties. We feel incredibly fortunate to have a vet that understands how attached we are to our cats and them to us, especially during blood stealing procedures. Sending purrs!

  15. I've never felt right about the staff taking Bear to the back. I've heard that it's easier for the staff to do whatever they have to do because there's no interference from the owner. I've also read you have the right to ask to go back or have it done in the exam room ... but I haven't demanded either as much as I want to. Maybe this will be the year I do. You look pretty formidable, Toby ... we know you weren't the slightest bit scared.

  16. Toby, we hope you've recovered from that terrible ordeal by now. We don't like it when we're whisked away for Horrible Things either.

  17. Toby, we're sorry you had to go to the stabby place, and that they stole your bloods. And Mom, we feel the same way ... we hate when we can't be there when they do certain procedures.

  18. You made yer presence known and that is very impawtant! It is an annual ritual that matters.

  19. Oh noes, Toby! I am wondering about that whisking away thing...I feel that I should INSIST that I accompany Chucky, or make them steal his bloods in front of me in the exam room. Radiographs, however...I know they cannot allow us to be present.

  20. They didn't let your mum be by your side when they stole your blood? MOUSES! I know my peep isn't allowed in when doin' x-rays but for everythin' else, she's right there, holdin' our paws. purrs

  21. Toby, I agree that your mom should be allowed to be there when they steal yer blood.

  22. Oh my!
    That was an awful ordeal!
We hope you have recovered okay.
    Have a wonderful Thursday...

  23. Did you ask them to do it in the room? most vets just assume people don't want to watch.
