Sunday - MOM!

Leia:
I just want to hang out with everyone, and the dining table is a great way to do that!
Mom sits in the chair and snuggles with us both. I'm all for it. I roll around and show off my tummy, she gives good tummy rubs.

Why is Toby such a brat about it??

Toby:
I remember the days when that girl didn't get on the table. It was just me. Or just me and mom.
Sighs. Those were glory days, right?

Mom:
*I* remember the day I bought this dining set and brought it home, back in NC.
I had this crazy notion I could actually eat at this table. By myself. No cats.
Ha.
I think I've eaten maybe three meals on this table in about a year and a half.

Toby:
I think I've just been deeply insulted and slandered. I'm leaving.

Dear furriends, do you see how I'm suffering!!!

  1. Of COURSE you bought the table for the cats - why else does a human need a table?

  4. I would register a complaint! Tables belong to the cats in the house...we only allow the peoples to share them with us.

  5. We’re with you on this one, Toby. We like laying on the table but for some reason the humans around here don’t think that’s a good idea.

  6. LOL LOL your mom’s comment made me laugh! Our dining table was originally designated as “no cat zone” by boys’ dad but that didn’t last long :-)

  10. If a cat can get up on it, then it belongs to said cat!

  11. Yeah, our mom had the same delusions about eating at our table.

And Leia? I think you should have first dibs on EVERYTHING.

  12. Toby, yes, your struggle is real. You may be outnumbered, though.

Mom's notion that this was her table was crazy indeed!

p.s. Thanks so much for you note about our move. We have actually done this a few times, but any tips you have would be greatly appreciated! I'll be flying the kitties out (two separate flights) and my husband will be driving our car.

  13. You know, the vagaries of our moms and dads just amaze me. Not on the table? As if! The table is yours as is all the rest of the furniture and the house. Where I sits or lays, I stays! If motor brothers walk by desiring to sit where I happen to be, the move on to the next place. You should see her when it's bed time. She will even open the closet doors I am "not allowed" in to get me off the bedtime she can get IN the bed. Sadly, it works every time.

  14. The dining table is a tricky area. We can walk all over te newspaper and he just reads around us. But iffen there is food there and we so much as stretch a neck out to get a good sniff, we find oureslfs suddenly lifted down to the floor. And iffen we jump right back up our trip to the floor gets a bit more quick...
