Wednesday

Toby and I want to thank all of our furriends and visitors who left condolences.
It really does help.

Unfortunately, the price of love is ultimately loss, and most of us have been here before.

I'm not sure how he is doing. He was very wide eyed and freaked out when I came home last Saturday. He's not showing obvious signs of looking for her, but I do think he feels her absence. Although he was often a huge brat to her, there was never true animosity,
and after sharing a home for a decade and a half, he's bound to wonder what happened to his fursib.

As for me, it's not the pain - that will fade - it's the emptiness that comes with Leia's absence.
I know this is a cliche, but please, go hug your loved ones. Furry or not furry.

You just don't know how long you will have to do that.

And now, something to make you smile.

  1. Sending more purrs to you. ITA that you never know how long you may have with a kitty--treasure every moment.

  2. It's the grabbing of two bowl for cat food, instead of remembering that only one is needed. It's looking underfoot, then realizing there is no need. Picking up toys, that you know Angel Leia last played with. Sending hugs and purrs, 'cause it's so hard.

    1. And trying to remember that I have one cat, not two, when I'm talking about my cat.

  6. I know Toby misses his sister. He needs extra loves and holding and snuggles for weeks till he feels he is alright again. And that in turn just may be what you need too. The feeling of Toby your loved one, in your arms his warmth and softness...appreciating him and giving him love. He will and does return lovethat right back to you. I fully understand. I and the rest of us are here when you need us. XOX

  11. It takes a long time to get used to the changes and you will keep finding you do different things from habit, and that is upsetting.
I am sure Toby misses Leia. Flynn grieved terribly even though we let him say goodbye to Eric, and he came out and watched us bury him.
Sending love and hugs to both of you.

  13. I don't think that hole ever really goes away ... we bandage up our hearts and learn to live around the hole. It's so unfair to have to deal with a forced new reality - something I'm struggling with myself.

  14. LC looked for Skeeter. So did Ayla, some, but she didn't know him as long. They KNOW something has changed and the absence. Some miss some departed cats more than others, but they all recognize a loss and change.

I think it is important to give attention to those still in our world. It helps them. It helps us, too.
