Mancat Monday

Yeah! The world has been righted. It's MANCAT Monday, folks, all the way.

Mom was moving things around, and I was reminded of how much I liked this chest.

I kept getting back on it all afternoon, which made her laugh. What can I say? It's quite comfy, has a padded top and everything.

Now I'm off to a well deserved nap, secure in the knowledge that there is NO hint of Leia on MY day.

Freaky Froggie Finally Friday

Since Leia stole MY Monday, I'm taking HER Friday.

So there.

ha ha meow. It's alllllll MINE!

Except.... Mom wants me to show you her ride-along from yesterday:

She swears she wasn't two minutes in the gas station store,
came out and started to drive off, then realized, hey, I'm a Frog Taxi!

Not wanting him to get blown off and smooshed on the
55 MPH highway she was headed for,
she got out and used an umbrella to prod him along.

Live long and propagate, green being.

Hmm... I guess sharing my day with a freaky froggie is better than it being stolen by Leia.

A little.

Mom:

The county came out and inspected the ditches, agreed that the entire section of my block needs a good clean out, and they will bring heavy equipment to take care of it. In a few months.

So this weekend, for funsies, I will be scraping out dead leaves and bagging them up.
I just can't wait for them to get out here.

Also, remember our post recently about the Taste of the Wild having big, big chunks?
I discovered that if I smoosh them into a pate, the cats will eat it just fine.

Happy Weekend, furriends and family!

Wednesday - The First Rule

Mom wanted to get in bed and read.
She looked at Leia (upper right, behind the first pillow).

She looked at me.

Saw that we were purrfectly placed to make it impossible
for her to get in without messing with at least one of us.

So she went away. We win!

Mancat Monday

Toby: Ha! As if! How can it be M M if Mom makes me share it with my sisfur?

Leia: Why yes, I do live life on the edge. How did you know?

Mom: Seriously, she was right there, not an inch to spare.

Toby: Grump. Fine, I'm gonna find some other place to sleep.
Clearly this one is TOO CROWDED!

and now for a PSA from Mom:

On Caturday we had an intense torrential downpour that lasted about 30 minutes.
I looked out the window and saw all this flooding, which I've never seen before here.
That space in the upper left hand corner is where the ditch is.
It's a pretty deep ditch, with a drainpipe. Not that you could tell from this.

I discovered when the rain stopped that one end was completely
clogged with leaves all the way to the top of the pipe. I had no idea.

I'm still in awe of how FAST that water flooded.
So yeah, peeps, check your ditches before your next hard rain is scheduled.

Hi, fellow furry folks! We made it to Friday, so that makes mom happy.

So recently Toby made a big deal about his names, but I have a name story too!

Mom believes the naming of cats is VERY impawant. Originally, I was Dulcie.
pawse while I shudder at that happily brief memory

But it really didn't suit me. I mean, do I LOOK like a Dulcie to you?
No. No, I do not.

So, Mom went to work figuring out what name, in fact, I belonged to.
After consultations with Auntie Mary and much thought, the name Leia came to be.

And naturally, I am a Princess, so that part was easy.
Just so we are clear, my name and title has
N O T H I N G to do with that other Princess Leia.

Happy Friday, and Caturday, to all.

Turtle Tuesday!

Yep, we are DARING to be rebels, and post this turtle selfie today, not on Sunday!
(in other words, we're being cats, doing just what we wanna do.)

Mom went to her own new Stabby Place today, and they had a fish tank with two turtles.
This lil guy wanted to get up close and purrsonal, so here he is.

Actually there are two turtles, he's just the small one.

Mom is a big turtle fan, herself.

Now back to the felines.

I was kind of bummed this weekend. There was an Event in the living room.
I was sitting looking out the window at the ebil introoder, the black kitteh Mom feeds,
just walking by cool as you please. In MY yard. I held it together, just a swishing tail,
but when I looked behind me to see if Mom was appreciating my coolness,
what did I see??

She was sitting with Leia in her chair, petting her!
Indignity in front of me and behind me.

So I found a quiet place where I could pull myself together
and contemplate the unfairness of life.

Mom said I was sulking, but what does SHE know??
